A German scientist recently discovered what may be the most beautiful crustacean on the planet. Cherax pulcher, also known as the galaxy crayfish, is a freshwater cousin of shrimp and lobster native to the waters of Indonesia and New Guinea. Despite its distinctively colorful shell that some say resembles a nebula, this species of crayfish remained undiscovered until 2015.
